Serenade

Serenade, a musical greeting by Strauss, Wagner and Dvorák, is the BSC’s first recording project. The programme smoothly highlights the great virtuosity and wealth of sound palettes that the ensemble can produce. The audience is, as it were, drawn into the music, breathing it in with the BSC.

Between Spaces

Concerts, workshops and encounters that open new horizons? Between Spaces!

With Between Spaces, the BSC narrows the gap between the experienced and inexperienced listener of classical music. In collaboration with ‘Toestand vzw’, it brings music to an unfamiliar audience in unusual locations.

The BSC members actively involve the public in workshops and expose them to the world of classical music.

American Rhapsody

The performance American Rhapsody bares the soul of American culture. Marc Erkens and the BSC take you to the story behind the music and unravel the ‘American Dream’. Enthusiastic stories about music alternate with wonderful renditions by the Belgian Saxophone Choir, moved away from an atmosphere of division and melancholy you will find yourself in the golden age of the American epic.

The origin of jazz, musical, minimal music, etc. A piece of 4’33”? Great innovators and dreamers you may never have heard of are part of the picture. Marc Erkens makes all of these songs and pieces of music audible to a wide audience.

More concert data info coming soon!

Mirrors

For ‘Mirrors’, the first concert series, the BSC members present a programme in which French and Spanish music merge and mirror each other during a beautiful musical dance. Mythical sounds by Debussy, musical fairy tales by Ravel and Spanish Fury at Antwerp, combine to form a wide palette of colour and virtuosity through which the ensemble launches itself in a very dynamic way.
